Tears of Love: Finding Joy and Wonder at the Circus

Updated: Nov 10

🎪Have you ever been to the circus?🎪

I went for the first time last month. It was Circus Vargas, a circus filled with entirely acrobatic shows, with no animals used at all. 🤡

When the show ended and the curtains closed, I would leave with tears in my eyes, clapping with sore palms, knowing that in a few days, that massive tent would be gone, replaced by parked cars. 🎪

Yes, I cried at the circus. In reality, there was nothing sad or bad about it. No one was harmed. What could there be to cry about at a circus!

What made me cry there was “LOVE.” It was the brave performers who allowed what was hidden inside to come out, who showcased their extraordinary abilities earned through who knows how much hard work and without hesitating to put their lives in danger, all in the name of LOVE.

The breathtaking moments at the end of each breath-holding act, the thunderous cheers and applause from the audience… They did everything to live and share that moment, and the happiness on their faces, the joy of self-fulfillment that cannot be measured in money, was what I saw as “LOVE” in those faces.

My tears of awe mixed with gratitude welled up inside me at that moment.

I had posted recently, “God, increase my wonder,” inspired by the feelings awakened in my heart when I saw my daughter and her friends watching the rainbow. It seems my prayer has been answered. 🥰🙏

With love,
